2-Piece Splitting Froe Set

Each froe features a blade made of 52100 steel, ideal for a variety of tasks, including splitting wood along the grain. The froes are designed to drive one edge of the blade into the end of a piece of wood in the direction of the grain, and then rotate the blade into the wood by rotating the handle.

Froes are used with wooden mallets to split timber, make planks, wooden shingles, or kindling. They offer greater safety and accuracy compared to hatchets or splitting mauls because the blade is not swung.
