Viking 16" DVR Floor Model Drill Press

The Viking DVR 16” Floor Model Drill Press model 83706 is the newest addition to the NOVA DVR Drill Press Series. Like the 83700 bench top version, this machine features a simplified menu with large, easy to read icons, built in LED lights, Laser Guides, and a 4.5" quill stroke.

The DVR technology continues to bring unprecedented functionality and power with unrivaled torque and smoothness to this category. With its unparallel speed range of 150 rpm to 3000 rpm (programmable to 5000 rpm) the Nova 1 HP Viking Floor Model Drill Press gives you the capability to drill wood, metals, plastics and glass. The 1 HP DVR motor delivers the correct speed and power to maintain optimal torque direct to the drill for the entire speed range. Because it’s direct drive, there are no belts or pulleys to change, you have no power loss or vibration.

DVR "Smart Sensors" interact in a number of ways which aid in Safety, Workshop Assist and Performance. The two powerful LED lights keep your project well-lit and you can quickly locate the center position of your work piece with the built in Laser guides.

The large tilting table is 12 2/3" x 12 2/3" and is designed to provide maximum clamping and accessory options with its slotted cutouts. Whether you prefer to work in metric, decimals or fractions, the unit of measurement can easily be changed to read and measure in either format.

The electronic depth stop quickly and accurately stops to the precise depth you program for your project eliminating the guess work. Once the desired depth is reached, the drill press automatically reverses to de-burr and eliminate tear out of delicate materials.

The Self-Start mode enables one-handed drilling operation automatically turning on and off as you raise and lower the quill. Other features include a 5/8" Chuck, E-Stop brake and forward and reverse modes on the motor for LH bits.

The Nova Viking Floor Model Drill Press offers a 2 Year Warranty on the Motor and Electronics and a 5 Year Warranty on all other non-wearable parts and components.
